Book Review: Almost by Danielle Norman

Book Review: Almost by Danielle Norman

**Disclosure: An ARC was provided for an honest review. These are my honest thoughts! :)**

Hey babes! I hope y’all have been doing good! I’m hoping to be more consistent with posting this year. Time just seemed to get away from me at the end of the year. Lol. I’m excited to get back into my book reviews! I had mixed feelings with this one..

Blurb

Some people are unforgettable.
Like, the first sheriff that pulled you over for speeding.
The first person to kiss you senseless on the hood of a car.
And, the first guy to make you orgasm.
But, when all of those things are from the same man; let’s just say unforgettable doesn’t even come close.

I wonder if he ever thinks about me and everything we ALMOST had.

Oh, he remembers and he’s prepared to put his money where his mouth is…

My Review

The blurb had me so intrigued that I was sure I was going to love it. Alas, this was a like but not love for me. It wasn’t a bad read but I had issues with a few things. It was definitely an instalove, fast moving book. Some things just weren’t that believable.

Carter was a sexy Harley riding cop and Sophie was a children’s author. I love a good cop book! It was funny, had good sex scenes, along with a bit of drama. Although I think some of the drama was a bit overdone. It was kind of a second chance romance. It had been 10 years since Carter and Sophie had last seen each other. They weren’t ever together but they had feelings for each other. She left town after getting some bad news. It’s one of two big secrets in the book.

The other secret is one of my issues. I don’t like how Carter kept it from her or how he made decisions without her when they were supposed to get a couple. On the other hand, I think she should have listened to what he had to say instead of immediately shutting him out. They both ran a bit hot and cold. The last few chapters seemed rushed. Overall, I liked the idea of the book but everything felt a bit too convenient. If you like romance books, you’ll probably like this but I’m a bit picky. Lol.

About the Author:

Danielle is a Harley riding romance writer. Most days she can be found in jeans, t-shirts, and pearls (she’s a lady like that).

Danielle writes about men that will open the door for you during the day and throw you against them at night. She loves stories that will make you laugh and fall in love without all of the emotional baggage faced every day in our real lives.

And her talent is the ability to tell the difference between a rye, wheat, corn, or potato vodka in just 1 sip, but she prefers a few glasses just to be certain.

I loved the 50 Shades series but it was a little “much” at times. This sounds like it’s a bit more “tame” ;-P

I hate when a book feels rushed at the end. It sounds like this is like a lot of other romance novels. But every now and then a cheesy romance novel is nice to veg out with.
