Hey babes! Happy Freakin Friday!! I meant to have this up earlier in the week but it’s been pretty much work, eat, and sleep lately. Lol. I’m sure by now you’ve heard of Storybook Cosmetics brushes. They made the super cool Harry Potter brushes! Unfortunately those were limited edition. I got those but never showed them on my Instagram since they were sold out. Good news though! The wizard wand brush set is permanent! They are supposed to be restocking them soon!
On to the review!
The set of 5 brushes retails for $55 and shipping was $4.50. I got them on the first pre-sale. I ordered them on January 1st and received them exactly one month later. They were wrapped in this cute tissue paper and came in a nice velvet pouch. I’ve been storing my brushes in the pouch until I find something to display them in.
The handles of the brushes are made out of some kind of metal. They have a nice weight to them! They were actually heavier than I expected! The handles are pretty amazing!! They have so much detail. The ferrules have Storybook Cosmetics name on one side and their logo on the other. I like that they are a bit different than their first set. The brush hairs are pretty soft! One of the brushes shedded a hair or two. Once I washed them, I didn’t have a problem.
The first brush is a large almost pointed blending brush. I really like this one for blending out color! The second one is a smaller blending brush. This one was good for placing color in the crease. The third brush is a fluffy shader brush. I liked this one for placing color under my brow bone. The fourth brush is a flat shader brush. I liked this one for packing color on the lid and it’s awesome for loose eyeshadow! The last brush is a flat thick liner brush. I liked this one for putting shadow underneath my waterline!
I really liked this brush set!! I’m a sucker for unique makeup items and these were such great quality! I think if you are a makeup addict or even a beginner you would like these. The only thing I would change is ditch one of the blending brushes and add a pencil brush or some kind of smaller detail brush. That’s the only thing I felt was missing. Are you planning on picking these up when they come back in stock? Who else is getting their eyeshadow palette that goes up for preorder today??
xoxo, Amber 💋
